Education and Training

Carson English has been a Licensed California Real Estate Broker for over thirty years. He is an Educator and Residential Real Estate Expert Witness, recognized by the California Bar Association.

Carson English started his professional career as an educator in the San Francisco Unified School District. From 1969 to 1979.

He holds a California Community College Credential and has been teaching Real Estate courses for the Department of Real Estate at the Community Colleges from 1995 through present.

Areas of Expertise

Carson is an Expert Witness Advocate for the Department of Real Estate and is recognized by the California Bar Association to give testimony in deposition, mediations, standard of care, agency, disclosures, conflict of interest, customs and practices, real estate trade practices, due diligence, conflict of interest, broker/client fiduciary duties, and contract review. When Real Estate agents are sued, their file transactions are turned over to their errors and omissions Insurance carriers. The E&O Insurance Carriers have Attorneys, which they have on retainer to defend the agents. The attorneys can then send those files to a Department of Real Estate Expert Witness, to write an opinion as to the agent's exposure; if any. Currently there are only eleven Experts licensed in the state, of which Carson English is one.

Personal Background

From 1980 to 1984 Carson was hired by Chicago Tile Insurance as the Northern California Regional Vice President of Direct Sales. He was required to recruit, train and supervise the Northern California Tile Insurance Sales Forces. The Sales Force was to solicit real estate brokerage business. In 1983 and 1984, his San Francisco based region, posted the highest gross sales revenue in the Western United States for Chicago Title Insurance.

In December 1984, he was hired as a Senior Vice President by Cornish and Carey Real Estate; a major Independent Real Estate Brokerage in the San Francisco Bay Area. During his tenure, he open five real estate offices and became the Regional Director of Business Operations.

In 1994 Cornish and Carey sold to Cendent Corporation, at which time Carson opened his own full service Real Estate Company, with thirty three top producing real estate agents. (Carrick & English Associates). He developed and ran a very profitable business from 1994 to 2002. In 2002 he sold his real estate sales entity to Prudential of California. He kept his Property Management Company, which represents the two largest Relocation Companies in the United States. (Refer to www.carrickandenglish.com)

In 2007 Cashin Company Real Estate hired Carson as Vice President and Manager of their Palo Alto Office, which he managed until Cashin Company was purchased by NRT Coldwell Banker in December 2010.

Carson English is a recognized California Landscape Artist. (Refer to www.carsonenglishineart.com) His works are currently being shown at the Hilton Gallery on the Big island of Hawaii.
