GETTING STARTED - OBTAINING YOUR CALIFORNIA REAL ESTATE LICENSE
In order for you to be eligible to attend our new associating training classes and coaching sessions, you must satisfy the basic requirements of the California Department of Real Estate (DRE), the licensing and controlling entity in real estate. These requirements are that an individual that sells real estate must:
- Be 18 years of age or older;
- Provide Proof of Legal Presence in the United States;
- Be honest and truthful;
- Provide evidence of successful completion of a three-semester unit or four-quarter level course in Real Estate Principles;
- Pass the State Licensing Examination
Coldwell Banker has formed a relationship with the Kaplan/Anthony Schools and offers prospective agents exam preparation and a college-equivalent Real Estate Principles class to satisfy the State education requirement for licensure. The class features live classroom instruction, in-class quizzing, a full course prior to the final exam and a review for the state test. There are money back guarantees as well. FastStart
Many of the industry�¢�?�?s most successful Realtors are graduates of FastStart, a comprehensive program that includes hands-on experience and classroom training designed to teach the fundamental business development and technical skills necessary to serve buyers and sellers effectively. As its name implies, it is designed to provide Superior Training About Residential Transactions. This programs covers real estate contracts, disclosures and paperwork required for real estate transactions, basic sales skills, listings, Title, Marketing, Legal Issues, Escrow, Mortgage/Real Estate Financing, Goals and Business Plan development and technology. Each program lasts 10 days, is presented by the Training Manager, and is offered in Woodland Hills and West Los Angeles. It is only available to Coldwell Banker agents.
Branch Training Skill Development
Additionally, our overall program features ongoing, in office trainings for our new Sales Associates to practice skills and expand on information provided during the FastStart program. Working with experienced agents designated as Branch Training Directors (BTD), agents have the opportunity to observe, participate in, and obtain guidance in �¢�?�?real-life�¢�?� real estate transactions. Weekly in-house meetings are conducted by the BTD with new agents to provide a forum for discussion, practice, information gathering, and networking.
