Professional Experience

Prior to being a Realtor, Harry spent 25 years working for Hewlett-Packard both as software engineer and manager. For the last five years with HP, he was a computer division executive and was challenged with the opportunity to change the organization from being internally engineering focused to externally customer focused. These changes led the way for his division's receiving the company's highest recognition award - the President's Quality Award for high customer satisfaction and overall division results.

Education

Harry has a degree in Business Administration from a small university in Washington DC. He continued his management skills with numerous business courses during his 25-year career at Hewlett-Packard. Not ready to retire, he obtained his real estate license and has continued his real estate education by completing classes in real estate principles, Property Management and California Real Estate Finance. Harry has brought his engineering attention to detail, his business and negotiation skills from Hewlett-Packard together with his real estate knowledge to create an outstanding positive experience for you as his client.

Harry is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, and is a member of the California Desert Association of Reactors. He is also a member of the Hewlett-Packard retirees association, giving him access to a wealth of professional contacts.

Personal Background

Harry is originally from Washington DC and moved to northern California in 1975 after joining Hewlett-Packard's commercial computer group. Four years prior to his retirement from HP, he and 11 other gay and lesbian employees performed a “Readers Theater” before the president and his executive committee, relating personal experiences of being gay in Hewlett-Packard. At the time, Harry was a General Manager and the highest openly gay manager in the company. This led to Hewlett-Packard’s being the first fortune 500 company to extend domestic partner benefits to its employees 3 months later.

After his retirement from HP in 2000, Harry moved to Palm Springs got his Real Estate license and lives with his partner of 25 years, enjoying friends and family in our desert paradise.
