SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – April 30, 2012 – Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the leading provider of real estate services in San Francisco, announced today that the 2012 San Francisco Decorator Showcase home, a four-story, seven bedroom, nearly 11,500 square foot mansion located at 2020 Jackson Street, is on the market for $17.5 million. It is listed by Coldwell Banker Previews Property Specialists Clark Johnson and Dona Crowder.
The 35th annual San Francisco Decorators Showcase, a fundraiser for San Francisco University High School's financial aid program, officially kicked off on Saturday, April 28 and will run through Monday, May 28. As one of the West Coast’s premier design events, more than 30 of the region’s top designers spent weeks implementing their visions for nearly every space in the home.
“The final result is absolutely stunning” said Tricia Foster, director of development for San Francisco University High School. “The designers did a tremendous job showcasing their creativity, while highlighting the unique features of this already exquisite home. Their talents truly shine and we’re excited to see the public’s reaction.”
Also known as the Hellman-Heller mansion, 2020 Jackson Street is recognized for its contribution to the early history of San Francisco. It was designed and built in 1902 as a wedding gift from Isias Hellman, head of Wells Fargo Nevada National Bank, to his daughter, Clara, and new husband Emanuel Heller. After the 1906 earthquake and fire destroyed most of downtown’s financial institutions, Wells Fargo Bank and the Union Trust Company used the home as its temporary headquarters.
“The home is part of San Francisco’s history so this is a wonderful opportunity for the public to take its first look inside,” said Johnson. “Every room is a work of art and I’m amazed at just how talented this year’s group of designers is. I’m confident this will be another successful fundraiser for the Decorator Showcase and University High School.” The Decorator Showcase is open to tour on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sundays and Memorial Day from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is closed on Mondays. Tickets are $30 for general admission and $25 for students and seniors, and are available for purchase at the door.
